Ski in Greece
Far from the madding crowds of the Alps and the Tyrol, the mountains of Greece are quickly developing and improving their ski facilities to cater for the winter sports enthusiast. The efforts of recent years to develop Greek winter sports and a viable highland and alpine tourism have paid off, and many facilities have already been constructed and some of these facilities come highly recommended.
Ski centres can be found at altitudes between 1,300 and 2,500 meters, ranging from single lift facilities catering mainly for locals to the popular Mt. Parnassos site that draws many of its enthusiastic patrons from the greater Athens area.
