Cortina Ski Resort
Cortina,
known as the Pearl of the Dolomites, is a world-famous winter resort
that rivals any other in the Alps. Magnificently situated in a sunny
amphitheater, it is ringed by spectacular peaks which rise nearly
2000 meters above the village. The local skiing is extensive and
varied and other resorts such as S.Cassiano and Corvara in the Dolomiti
Superski area are easily reached from the Falzarego pass. Cortina
has offered a complete range of winter sports facilities since hosting
the Olympic Games in 1956 and also offers numerous activities for
the non skier.
